Wanted to update this a bit as iOS 16 is releasing soon with lock screen widgets. One of the limitations of iOS widgets is they are intended to be informational or shortcuts and not something to interact without opening the app. Certainly something I will be looking into after iOS 16 releasing though as it would be neat to have a shortcut to open a new tab, as an example, on your lock screen.

100% this! I love the widget that Drafts has created where you get 8 “shortcuts” to actions and you get to choose what action/shortcut goes where within the widget. It’s the best iOS widget I’ve seen.

I’d love to see an iOS widget but personally I’m less interested in seeing random highlights and much more interested in searching my notes, open tabs, and quickly saving new notes
